The Potter’s Wheel is an ancient craft that fascinates many people, and here at the Pottery Barn, we offer a range of classes and opportunities for all ages and stages.
1. Have A Go Sessions
This is available for all ages. It is a 15 minute session, one to one with the Potter to make a pot. Sessions are available on Sundays, Bank Holidays and weekdays during school holidays for all the family. It costs £6 to have a throw on the Potters Wheel. If you are delighted with your masterpiece you can have it fired to bisque, come in and decorate it, nd have it be glazed and fired to a finished pot. (additional £12 – optional)
2 . Introductory Sessions
This is a class for total beginners and is an ideal way to introduce to yourself to the Potters Wheel and have some fun. This hour long session runs on Sundays (other days may be available) and starts with a demonstration and introduction from the Potter. You will have the opportunity to make two pots under the Potters guidance. The price includes the bisque firing of two pots and a decorating session with glaze firing at a later date.

3. Beginners and mixed ability Weekday classes
For those who wish to learn the art of potting , we offer classes from complete beginners to advanced potters on Wednesday & Thursday mornings,10.15 to 12.30pm. where you will make at least two pots. We do try to group the classes according to ability levels and/or experience. The class includes 2.25 hours tuition and the bisque firing of two pots (additional pots made can be fired at an extra cost)

4. Weekend classes
For those who wish to learn the art of potting , we offer classes from complete beginners to advanced potters on Saturday mornings,10.15 to 12.30pm. where you will make at least two pots. 5. Independent Potting
For those with previous Potting experience our wheels are available to hire in our workshop. Prior to use we will discuss your experience as well as our Health & Safety and workshop procedures. Having visited our Calendar for upcoming dates please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01268 270892 to check availability. If there are dates you would prefer, which aren’t listed, please call we may be able to arrange a class for you.
At the time of booking, we will ask you to pay a deposit for each person booked. Please take time to read our ‘Cancellation Policy’ below.
Potter’s Wheel classes are taught in small groups, with a maximum class size of 8 people.
* Classes must be paid in full 14 days before the date of your class.
* You may cancel or move the date of your class up to 14 days before the class, without penalty.
* If you cancel your class less than 14 days before the class, your payment or full value voucher will be exchanged for a £10 voucher to use against another class or to use for pottery painting. At our discretion we may permit a transfer from class to class once we have been able to fill the place remaining on the class.
